Smart locks aren’t just about replacing keys, they’re about convenience. One of the biggest advantages of choosing the right platform is the ability to connect your lock with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice control.
What is the use of connecting to the assistant, you may ask? Here are some of the cases our customers have been using:

Here’s how it works with Tuya and TTLock locks. We explain what you need and how to connect.
Pre-preparation: what do you need?
WiFi Enabled Smart Lock (several of Altix Smart locks like G1 Pro, A7 Pro are WiFi-enabled)
If the lock is Bluetooth, then a compatible gateway is required. the lock connects to gateway via Bluetooth Low Energey (BLE) and gateway connects to WiFi
Altix G1 for Tuya Locks
Altix G2 is for TTLock
For the Apple HomeKit ecosystem, Matter gateways are required
It’s important to note that all locks and gateways work on 2.4Ghz WiFi frequency, if you are using 5GHz wifi only or blended mode of WiFi router you may have difficulty connecting the locks.
How to connect TTLock?
Most TTLock models are Bluetooth enabled, until recently we started seeing WiFi enabled TTLocks. Altix is one of the very few retailers who have TTLock WiFi locks (A7 Pro model and X6 models) that are stable and still offering longer battery life.
For most TTLock models, you will need a gateway. TTLock Bluetooth models with gateway offers exceptional battery life and stable connectivity.
TTLock is mainly focused on access control, so Alexa/Google integration is available but works differently.
Steps:
Install the TTLock app and set up your lock.
You’ll need the Altix G2 TTLock Wi-Fi gateway for cloud integration.
Enable the TTLock skill in Alexa or Google Home and log in with your TTLock account.
You can now ask Alexa or Google to lock/unlock the door (with PIN for unlock).
👉 Without the Wi-Fi gateway, TTLock cannot connect to Alexa or Google Home.
ℹ️ For security purposes, when you try to unlock with Alexa, Voice Assistant will ask you to say the PIN code before unlocking.
How to Connect Tuya?
Tuya is a full smart-home ecosystem, which means connecting to Alexa or Google Home is straightforward. If you have Tuya enabled Smart LED lights, sensors, curtain motors or any other Tuya gateway, you can connect our Tuya locks with the same gateway.
Steps:
Install the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app and add your lock.
In the Alexa or Google Home app, search for and enable the Tuya/Smart Life skill.
Log in with the same Tuya account you used to set up the lock.
Your lock will appear in Alexa/Google Home and can be controlled by voice commands like “Alexa, lock the front door.”
👉 Note: For unlocking by voice, both Alexa and Google require additional verification (like a PIN) for safety.
Tuya vs TTLock for Voice Assistants
As we discussed in previous articles, for Dubai or UAE market both the platofms are equially useful. But regardless of which lock you have both can easily integrate to Home Assistants.

Final Word
Choose Tuya if you want your lock to be part of a bigger smart home setup (lights, plugs, cameras).
Choose TTLock if you just need a solid lock with optional Alexa/Google voice support.
Either way, both platforms make it easy to lock your door with just your voice, and that’s a small upgrade that makes a big difference at home.
Lastly, most of our users who have setup initially never went back to use it except in the cases of elderly access requirements. This is a nice-to-have feature. We reckon the practicality & convenience of a smart lock will let you forget these vanity features.
